Anne Steiner, MD

Dr. Steiner graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine with an MD with Distinction in Research in Ophthalmology and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the North Shore-LIJ Health System, during which time she served as chief resident. Dr. Steiner completed her fellowship in Cornea and External Diseases at the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute of Columbia University.

Dr. Steiner specializes in corneal and external diseases that affect vision such as cataracts, Fuchs Dystrophy, Bullous Keratopathy, and corneal ectasias and scars. Additionally, she is the Director of the Ocular Surface Center and treats uncommon ocular surface disorders such as stem cell dysfunction or failure, cicatrizing diseases of the conjunctiva, chemical and thermal burns of the ocular surface, complications of viral keratitis, severe ocular allergies, graft versus host disease, auto-immune disease and conjunctival corneal tumors.

Some of the surgical procedures that she provides include: penetrating keratoplasty, Descemet's stripping endothelial keratoplasty, phacoemulsification (sutureless cataract surgery), anterior segment reconstruction, and sutured intraocular lenses.

Dr. Steiner has published her clinical research in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national meetings.  She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Corina Busuioc, O.D.

Dr. Busuioc completed the BostonSight® PROSE Clinical Fellowship in 2011. She graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO) in 2005. She completed a contact lens fellowship from UHCO in 2006. Dr. Busuioc worked as Adjunct Clinical Faculty at UHCO from 2005 - 2011 and at a private practice, Eye Contact, in Houston, from 2006 - 2011.

Ira J. Udell, M.D.

Chairman and Chief - Cornea & External Disease

Ira Udell, MD

Ira J Udell, MD, is Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Northwell Health. He previously served as Chief of Cornea and External Disease at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital; Acting Chairman and Chairman of Ophthalmology at Long Island Jewish Hospital from 1993 through 2004; and Vice-Chairman of the Health System's recently merged Department of Ophthalmology.  He holds the endowed Arthur and Arlene Levine Professorship of Ophthalmology and is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Hofstra University School of Medicine. 

Dr. Udell received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA in 1974.  He completed his ophthalmology residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and served as a cornea fellow at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear.

D. Udell is a Fellow, Honor Award and Senior Honor Award recipient of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).  He is a New York State Counselor to the American Academy of Ophthalmology; Director at Large of The Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmology (CLAO); and President Elect of the New York State Ophthalmological Society. He is a past President of the Long Island Ophthalmologic Society. His research interests are in the area of corneal transplantation, DSAEK, ocular infections and ocular surface disorders.
