Deborah S. Jacobs, MD
Deborah S. Jacobs, MD, an ophthalmologist with specialty training in Cornea and External Diseas, joined BostonSight as Medical Director in 2006. Dr. Jacobs earned her undergraduate A.B. degree from Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges in 1981, majoring in Biology and graduating summa cum laude. After winning a Rhodes Scholarship, in 1983 she earned her Masters of Science degree in Physiological Sciences from Oxford University in England.
Dr. Jacobs returned to Massachusetts for medical school and earned an M.D. from Harvard Medical School in 1987. Her three-year residency in Ophthalmology was spent at Massachusetts Eye & Ear in Boston where she also completed a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease, supported by a Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Fellowship. From 1992-2006, she was Director of the Cornea Service at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston; she has also been on staff at Massachusetts Eye & Ear. She is currently an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Jacobs is also a member of the faculty of the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Cornea Service and is Director of the required course in Ophthalmology for Harvard medical students.
