FOR PATIENTS | Patients We've Helped For 16 long years Linda Dauber, who has a masters degree from Harvard University, was unable to work. Legally blind from Stevens-Johnson syndrome, she considered it a good day when she could get out of bed and empty the dishwasher. On a great day she ventured to the supermarket or the post office. Her daughters read to her daily, starting with When Bad Things Happen to Good People. Then her doctor heard Dr. Perry Rosenthal of the Boston Foundation for Sight deliver a paper on his results with the Boston Scleral Lens. "You must try it," he told Linda. Two hours after the Boston Scleral Lenses were inserted, Linda could open her eyes without pain and see againfor the first time in 16 years. "Every day I wake up and bless Dr. Rosenthal and Dr. Cotter. After
a 16-year nightmare, I can see once again. I can see my children, my grandchildren,
my friends; I can read, go to the theatre and to concerts. I no longer
just exist. I am living again." |
