Clifford Scott, OD, MPH
Dr. Scott was named the New England College of Optometry’s 12th President in December of 2009. Prior to his appointment, Dr. Scott was the Dean of Academic Affairs and also held the position of Chair of the Department of Community Health at the college for eight years. He has been a faculty member at the college since 1970 and has been a Professor of Optometry since 1990.
Dr. Scott brings more than 35 years of clinical experience in hospital-based optometry to the BostonSight board. As the Chief Optometrist at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in West Roxbury, his responsibilities included the supervision of all residents and students in the optometry section of the hospital as well as the provision of direct eye care to patients. He has lectured nationally and internationally on topics related to eye disease and is an experienced clinical researcher.
