FitAcademy for Residents

for Residents

September 11-12, 2026

The New England College of Optometry
(NECO)
Boston, MA

FOR CORNEA AND
CONTACT LENS RESIDENTS

EXPERT FACULTY

2 DAYS OF EDUCATION

THIS PROGRAM IS BY INVITE ONLY

Invitations are made directly to the Residency Director of each site who will accept and identify the residents selected to attend the event. If you are a Residency Director of a Cornea and Contact Lens residency site, email us at fitacademy@bostonsight.org to be added to our invitation list.

Please note the FitAcademy 2025 program is full.

FitAcademy draws on 30 years of design, manufacturing, research, and training to give emerging clinicians an edge on scleral lens fitting, assessment, and management. Our class of 2019 joined us from schools around the country, in 2020 we went virtual due to the pandemic, and in the past three years we hosted the event at the New England College of Optometry in Boston.

Cornea and contact lens residents learn about scleral lens fitting and assessment and how to manage and co-manage a range of corneal and ocular surface disorders, including dry eye disease and keratoconus. In addition to the educational component, FitAcademy’s intimate setting provides residents a unique opportunity to collaborate with fellow residents, strengthening their professional connections as they begin their careers.

WHY FITACADEMY

WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAY

“I learned how to implement HOA correction more effectively as well as meaningful lens adjustments to better patients’ vision, comfort, and lens fits.”

“I learned a lot of troubleshooting tips and tricks with scleral lens fitting that I will implement. FitAcademy also reminded me how important it is to think beyond the lens.”

“I liked learning more tips for application and removal, as sometimes we rush through this in clinic, but it’s such a big part of the patient’s experience.”

“Loved learning about the role of technology in getting you closer to a fit endpoint when you know that a fit will be difficult.”
