Condition: Post-Corneal Transplant

“Since I was three years of age I have had bad eyes and a couple of surgeries. With the last one being a cornea transplant in 2000. That was a success and made me see a bit better in one eye. Most of all, it made it stable.

When I went for an eye check my doctor said, ‘You should look into BostonSight for their PROSE device. I believe you may be a good candidate for it.’ So, I took her advice and reached out to them, and spoke with Patient Intake Coordinator, Nancy Lemist, who explained how everything would work and made me feel so comfortable.

I went for consultation and met the team of staff and Dr. Bita Asghari. I was so impressed by them and learned that I was a candidate for the PROSE device. I went home and told my family I was going to go ahead with and schedule to get fitted for PROSE.

June 12, 2018 was my first day at the clinic to start the fitting process. I was nervous but excited at the same time. I can now say what a great experience it was. Dr. Asghari and her team made me feel so at ease. And the untold secret was the break room with other patients. We all sat waiting for our appointments and everyone shared stories about what they were going through to help each other and give some advice if they had any. So, after the fourth day you become like family.

Here is the best part. I have a NEW LIFE of seeing. And now I am such a believer of BostonSight. I see things I have not in my 51 years of life.

Even colors … I had no idea how vibrant colors were. I use the example … remember the old televisions and how they looked. Well, my eyes were a bit worse than that. And now we have 4D TV … well my eyes are better than that. I also have had prescription glasses my whole life. Now I don’t need them and see 1,000 times better so to speak. I even got to go and buy regular sunglasses, over the counter and what I wanted, and not limited to only a few types that would work with my prescription.”
