Dr. Karen Carrasquillo is the founder of FitAcademy. In her current role at BostonSight, she leads the Needham Clinic team of doctors, contributes to innovation and new product development, and engages eye care professionals around the globe through educational and speaking opportunities. Dr. Carrasquillo is also an adjunct clinical professor at the New England College of Optometry and at the School of Optometry, MCPHS University, an advisory member of the Gas Permeable Lens Institute, Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society, and Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association. She has authored many publications in the field.

Dr. Daniel Brocks specializes in the treatment of ocular surface disorders. He is focused on the management of corneal disorders with a specific interest in the management of infectious keratitis, corneal ectasia, and rheumatologic/immune associated corneal and anterior segment disorders. He is particularly interested in the treatment of dry eye related to autoimmune issues, including Sjogren’s Syndrome, Rheumatoid arthritis, and Graft vs Host Disease. He received his BA and MD from Tufts University and completed his internship at Mount Auburn Hospital of Harvard University and his ophthalmology residency at Long Island Jewish/North Shore Hospital System in Long Island NY.

Dr. Bita Asghari joined BostonSight in August 2017. She completed her Doctorate in Optometry from Southern California College of Optometry, graduating summa cum laude. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from California State University Northridge (CSUN), graduating cum laude. Before joining BostonSight, Dr. Asghari completed her post-doctoral residency in Cornea & Contact Lens and Ocular Disease from The Ohio State University Havener Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science. There she completed additional training with an emphasis in binocular vision disorders and low vision. As Associate Director of Clinical Education, Dr. Asghari contributes to the coordination of FitAcademy programs and engages eye care professionals through educational and speaking opportunities.

Michelle Kong, OD, joined BostonSight in January 2026. Dr. Kong received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of California (UC) Berkeley and completed her residency with programs at the New England College of Optometry, the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, BostonSight, and Andover Optometry on Central. Dr. Kong also completed clinical internships at the California School for the Blind, U.C. Berkeley Meredith Morgan Eye Center, the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, and West Oakland Health Center. She also practiced at Atrius Health, where she fit patients with specialty lenses.

Dr. Alan Kwok joined the team at BostonSight in 2007 as part of the medical staff, bringing more than 15 years of experience in a variety of clinical settings. Dr. Kwok received his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. After several years of practice, he completed a primary care residency with an ocular disease focus. He later became an Assistant Professor of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry and Chief of Service of the cornea and contact lens clinic at the New England Eye Institute.

Dr. Chirag Patel earned his Doctor of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University. He holds two bachelor’s degrees – one in Biology from Creighton University and one in Vision Science from Nova Southeastern University.  Before coming to BostonSight, Dr. Patel completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Cornea & Contact Lens at the University of Houston College of Optometry. During his fellowship, Dr. Patel specialized in complex contact lens design and routinely managed patients with a wide variety of corneal conditions. He was also a clinical research investigator for the Texas Eye Research and Technology Center.

Dr. Chiu is an Associate Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the USC Roski Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. She received her Doctor of Optometry at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry and completed a residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the Southern California College of Optometry, where she still serves as an adjunct faculty member.  Her clinical interests include contact lens fittings and treatment for patients with ocular surface disease and irregular corneas. Her research interests include microbial contamination in contact lens-related solutions and effects of scleral lens wear on the ocular surface and optic nerve. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the Scleral Lens Education Society, a member of the California Optometric Association, and serves on the Board of Directors at the Dry Eye Foundation. She was named one of America’s Best Eye Doctors by Newsweek and GP Practitioner of the Year by the Gas Permeable Lens Institute.

Dr. Clark Chang is the Senior Director of Medical and Surgical Operations at EssilorLuxottica as well as the Director of Specialty Contact Lenses in Cornea Service at Wills Eye Hospital (Philadelphia, USA). Upon completing his residency training at Salus University, Dr. Chang went on to complete a 2-year Cornea and Contact Lens Fellowship and continued to focus his research work on corneal collagen cross-linking, specialty contact lenses and other advanced corneal treatments. Additionally, he frequently presents at scientific symposiums and has authored many peer-reviewed publications. In recent years, he has been honored with “2021 Luminary Award for Distinguished Practice” by American Optometric Association, “World’s Top 100 Doctors” in 2022, Tommy Pham GPLI-NKCF Keratoconus Practitioner of the Year Award in 2023, as well as Newsweek America’s Best Eye Doctors 2023.

Dr. Anita Gulmiri is Associate Medical Director at Lenz Therapeutics, where she leads the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team and oversees scientific engagement strategy within Medical Affairs. She also serves as Adjunct Faculty at the New England College of Optometry (NECO) and is an Attending Optometrist in the Contact Lens Service at the NECO Center for Eye Care, where her clinical practice focuses on specialty contact lens management of keratoconus and other corneal irregularities.

Prior to joining industry, Dr. Gulmiri spent a decade on faculty at NECO, where she directed the Cornea and Contact Lens Residency Program and served as Instructor of Record for Contact Lens II and the Advanced Contact Lens Course. She led the Advanced Contact Lens Clinic and mentored second, third, and fourth year students alongside cornea and contact lens residents. Before Lenz, she served as a Senior Medical Ambassador at Tarsus Pharmaceuticals, building peer-to-peer scientific relationships with key thought leaders and supporting educational programs, publications, and evidence-based field engagement.

Dr. Gulmiri earned her Doctor of Optometry from NECO and completed her Residency in Cornea and Contact Lens there as well. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Society (FSLS), and has led continuing education programs on specialty contact lenses, keratoconus, and myopia management both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Jennifer Liao is an Associate Professor at the New England College of Optometry (NECO) where she is the head instructor of the Contact Lens course and residency coordinator of the Cornea and Contact Lenses Residency Program. She is also an Attending Optometrist at NECO Center for Eye Care in the Contact Lens Clinic, Myopia Control and Dry Eye service  to optometry students and residents. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry with honors from NECO, and completed a residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses the following year.

Prior to joining NECO, Dr. Liao practiced in Toronto, Canada as the Director of Contact Lens Services at the Vision Institute of Canada, and lead optometrist and PROSE provider at the Therapeutic Contact Lens Clinic at the Kensington Eye Institute, a clinic she co-founded in 2016 as Canada’s first hospital-based contact lens referral and PROSE clinic.

She currently serves as Secretary of the Contact Lens and Cornea Section of the American Optometric Association, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society, and is a 2025 and 2026 Contact Lens Institute Visionary member.
