About the Clinic

The Ocular Surface Center at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, part of UHealth at the University of Miami, offers comprehensive eye care for patients with ocular surface disorders, including ocular Graft Versus Host Disease, dry eye syndrome, Sjögren’s Syndrome, cicatricial ocular pemphigoid, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and thermal and chemical burns. The PROSE Network Clinic at the Plantation, FL, location, opened in 2012. The PROSE Program Coordinator is happy to assist you with any questions you may have regarding candidacy, billing, insurance, or scheduling. It is their goal to make the approval and treatment process as easy as possible.

Dr. Priscilla Sotomayor is a graduate of the University of Miami and received her Doctorate of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University. She completed her residency at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and in 2012 completed the BostonSight PROSE Clinical Fellowship. Dr. Sotomayor is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Perez is an ophthalmologist and established clinician-scientist in the field of ocular immunology and ocular surface diseases. He is the director of the Foster Center for Ocular Immunology offering individualized diagnosis and treatment of ocular inflammatory diseases, ocular surface disease, anterior uveitis, and others that can cause severe pain and greatly affect visual function and quality of life. Dr. Perez and his team are committed to preserving vision through innovation, personalized medicine, and a passion for advancement of ophthalmic science.
